Peripheral (mouse, keyboard, USB drives, etc.) issues
My Bluetooth keyboard or mouse is not working. What should I do?
If your Bluetooth mouse is not working, there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to identify and resolve the issue:
- Ensure that your Bluetooth device has sufficient power. If it uses batteries, replace them or recharge the mouse if it's rechargeable.
- Turn off the Bluetooth device and then turn it back on. This can help reset the connection.
- Unplug the Bluetooth adapter from your computer and plug it back in.
- Disable and then re-enable Bluetooth on your computer. This can refresh the connection between the computer and the device.
- In your computer's Bluetooth settings, "forget" the Bluetooth device, and then attempt to reconnect it. Follow the pairing instructions for your specific device.
- Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your computer. In the Bluetooth settings, verify that your device is recognized and connected.
- Test the Bluetooth device on another computer or device to determine if the issue is with the device or the computer. If it works on another device, the problem may be with your computer's Bluetooth.
- Restart your computer and check if the Bluetooth device works afterward. You can find instructions on how to restart your computer here.
